NIK System of Narcotics Identification

The NIK range of drug identification kits are compact and easy to use; they have no expiry date and require minimal training. They are ideal for on-site narcotic testing of a whole range of common narcotics, including ketamine, cocaine, cannabis, and many more.

It is estimated 2.9 million people (8.7% of adults aged 16 to 59) used an illicit drug in the past 12 months. With young adults aged 16-24 being the highest users with 15.1% (around 899,000 people) are using illegal substances. Opiate users make up the largest group in treatment (42%), with powder cocaine and cannabis seeing year-over-year increases.

They can be used to identify a found or seized substance, as well as identify a substance quickly if a person has become unwell after taking a drug. In 2024 there were 3,736 drug misuse-related poisoning deaths, with nearly half of all drug poisoning deaths involving an opiate. Being able to identify the substance taken may assist emergency services in administering vital care faster.

The NIK testing system offers instant substance identification utilising the same chemical tests as found in crime laboratory chemical analysis sections throughout the world. The NIK system mixes the same chemicals but places them in ampoules to do the onsite field testing. Safe and easy to use, you simply place a small amount of the substance in the test pouch, seal it, and then break the ampules to release the chemicals.

The NIK tests are a simple, cost-effective solution that is ideal for workplaces, schools, universities, security teams, and more.
